Formula V air racing safety policies...
Formula V air racing has a high emphasis on safety. Over and above the FAA regulations governing air racing, Formula V self-polices the air races via enforcement of technical rules (many having to do with safety issues), race pilot certification and competency, and race procedures. Formula V Air Racing has an excellent safety record when compared to most other motorsports over our 20 years of operation.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulates all flying activities at airshows, including air races. The FAA regulations specifically focus on spectator safety via safe race course layout, positioned slightly away from the audience so that the spectators are not at risk in case of a crash, as well as enforcement of specific requirements for pilot and aircraft certification.
